Here are two ways to plant oranges at home:
1. Growing oranges from seeds:
Remove the seeds from the oranges you want to plant and wash them thoroughly.
Fill a pot with nutrient-rich soil and make a small hole in the center.
Place the seed in the hole and cover it with soil.
Water the soil and keep it moist but not soaked.
Place the pot in a warm and sunny spot with good ventilation.
In about 2-3 weeks, the seed should start to sprout. Keep watering it regularly and make sure it gets enough sunlight.
As the plant grows, transplant it to a larger pot or directly to the ground.
2. Growing oranges from a cutting:
Take a cutting from an existing orange tree in the spring, when new growth is just starting.
Cut a 6-8 inch piece of stem from the tree, making sure it has several leaves and a few buds.
Remove the leaves from the bottom 2-3 inches of the stem.
Dip the cut end of the stem in rooting hormone powder and plant it in a pot filled with nutrient-rich soil.
Water the soil and keep it moist but not soaked.
Cover the pot with a plastic bag or clear plastic wrap to create a mini greenhouse and keep the soil warm and moist.
Place the pot in a bright, warm spot, but not in direct sunlight.
After a few weeks, the stem should develop roots. Once it has established a strong root system, transplant it to a larger pot or directly to the ground.
